The History of Vacuum Cleaner Bags

The debris picked up by all of the different types of vacuum cleaners and units on the market has to be deposited somewhere -- usually in a vacuum cleaner bag.

In 1920 the Air Way Sanitizer Company of Ohio introduced the first vacuum cleaner with a disposable bag. Up until that time, vacuum cleaner bags resembled the type of bags golfers use to carry their clubs. They were heavy and unwieldy devices made out of thick, stiff canvas, designed to be somewhat flexible and yet keep the dust and debris from the carpets from escaping.

The improvement made by the Air Way Sanitizer disposable vacuum cleaner bag went a long way towards improving the overall effectiveness of the vacuum cleaner.

The bag, made out of paper, was designed to fit inside the cloth bag typically used. It not only made cleaning the vacuum easier but it kept the insides of the stationary bag clean at all times so that less of the dust and debris could be blown back out of the vacuum cleaner and throughout the house once again.

Early on, each manufacturer designed its own disposable vacuum cleaner bag made out of different types of paper. The bags were not interchangeable from one machine to another, as the fittings were of different sizes with different configurations for the intake opening. Manufacturers, once dependent solely on the sales of their machines, had discovered an entire new market for the disposable bags and once again sales soared.

Previously, a housewife had her machine and the only thing it needed was occasional cleaning and service. If the man of the house was handy, that job usually went to him. But after a while, repair shops specializing in vacuum cleaners were springing up everywhere.

But now, every vacuum cleaner in America was going to need at least one new, disposable vacuum cleaner bag every month and that represented an unanticipated windfall for the companies. It was not until many years later, when the dimensions of the air inlets became uniform and the advent of the bag-less machine that this lucrative aftermarket began to slow down..

House Cleaning - The Benefits When It Comes To Selling

A property in a very sought after location was on the market. This property was a two bedded town house. The owner considered that because of its location he would have no trouble selling it and therefore it was not worth time or money in rectifying its defects. The house had previously been let. The tenants had disappeared in the middle of the night owing several months rent. Rather than re-let the property the owner decided to put it on the market.

12 weeks later and after 50
viewings not a single offer had come in. The agent finally convinced the seller to get the property cleaned up, its only defect! This is when we, Sparkle Cleaning Services were called in. Judging by what we found in the house the previous tenant had been something of a regular drinker! Much of it was still sticking to the kitchen floor! Also they were firm favourites of fried food as the cooker hob was caked in a thick layer of grease that had overflowed onto the floor and mixed with the beer! All...

5 Ways to Deal With Lady Bug Infestations

Every fall, millions of lady bugs (or what seems like millions) swarm around my house here in west central Wisconsin, looking for a place to spend the winter.Actually, they are not "true" lady bugs. They are "Multi-Colored Asian Lady Beetles." The beetles are beneficial to the environment because they control aphids. And from what I've read, the multicolored lady beetles are much better at controlling aphids than the 'real' lady bugs. How can you tell the difference between native lady bugs and the multicolored beetles? Lady bugs are bright red. The multicolored lady beetles come in shades of orange, from light to dark. They also have many variations of patterns of spots.

Some have almost no spots at all, and some have many spots. When you look closely at the multicolored lady beetles, it doesn't seem much of a stretch to say that no two are alike.Unfortunately, on warm, sunny fall days, the swarms of lady beetles are so thick around my house that in the afternoon, I hesitate to...

Indexing And The Registry

In the world of computer languages and jargon, you will come across a term known as the ?system registry'. This is a central database that the system uses to efficiently run the operating system without hang-ups and hitches. This is a database, which stores information such as the data pertaining to the settings of all the hardware and the software that is installed on the system. It also stores the various users' preferences such as the desktop settings and what programs the user wants to startup with the operating system during boot up. This registry is constantly changing along with the use of the system.

These changes are a stumbling block for the system as the registry continues to grow and expand. Eventually the system will slow down so much that the use of a registry cleaner will be inevitable to fine tune and cleanup the system.

The Registry Grows With Indexing
There are six sub sections of the registry and they are all changed every time some user...
